Farm Animals at the Hoferbichlgut

Ponies, horses, cows ...

During your stay at the Hoferbichlgut you can also visit our numerous farm animals. Our ponies, horses, cows, rabbits.... are looking forward to your visit.

The little petting zoo

Our small but nice petting zoo at the Hoferbichlgut always amazes our little guests. Why not visit our rabbits, ponies, goats and cats?

Our Noriker horses

The Noriker is a strong, agile and responsive horse. In the Alpine region it is indispensable that it never loses its nerve. The name "Noriker" comes from the former Roman province of Noricum, which roughly comprised the present-day territory of Austria.

Our Fleck-cattle

Our prize-winning Fleck-cattle also calls our Hoferbichl farm home. The highest price among the Holstein animals was achieved by a very large-framed young cow from the Johann Streitberger farm, Hoferbichl, Saalfelden. This Defoe Red daughter with a performance of 33 kg milk and best udder was bought by Birgit Auer from Hüttau.

Wagyu Cattle

Wagyu cattle originate from Japan and are among the most exclusive cattle breeds in the world. Their meat is renowned worldwide for its exceptional marbling, tenderness, and uniquely buttery flavor. Unlike many other breeds, Wagyu cattle have never been crossbred – their genetics are pure and of the highest quality.

Often referred to as the "caviar of beef", Wagyu is a true luxury product for gourmets. Only cattle that come directly from the Kobe region may officially be called "Kobe beef" – similar to the protected designation of origin for Champagne.

Our Wagyu cattle at Hoferbichlgut are raised in a natural and species-appropriate environment in the heart of Saalfelden – delivering premium quality meat at the highest level.
